Maranatha recognizes the need for students to develop as whole persons and offers opportunities to participate in missions, community service, and leadership training. We strive to encourage the interpersonal growth of our students through Associated Student Body activities, clubs, and other social alternatives that nurture interpersonal skills.
Maranatha also desires for each of its students to develop a vital, personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ, and asks each student to measure his/her life by Biblical standards of conduct. It is an expectation for all students to be in regular attendance at a local church. Maranatha also provides weekly worship chapels on campus to celebrate the diverse Christian community of Maranatha. Student Chaplains, under the direction of our Director of Student Ministries, organize chapels to be a time of fellowship, community worship and encouragement. This time is central to the atmosphere of student life on campus.
Finally, serving our community and our world is so valued at Maranatha that we make it a requirement to graduate. We are committed to seeing our students live out Christ’s example of service to others. Service hours are meant to stretch the student and give them the opportunity to serve others with an attitude of grace and love. MHS students are required to complete 10 hours of community/volunteer service during their freshmen and sophomore years and 20 hours during their junior and senior years for a total requirement of 60 hours to graduate.
