| Adventure Club |

| Purpose: |
The Adventure Club's purpose is to challenge students to experience God's creation in new and exciting ways. The Adventure Club goes on 2-3 adventures each year. They usually go to one of the Channel Islands in the fall to camp, snorkel, kayak and swim with seals. In the winter they go to Joshua Tree to camp and rock climb. |

The Ambassador Club is a leadership and service club at MHS. Ambassador Club students serve to represent the school at several school functions. They also participate in fun social activities throughout the year. |

This Club exists to give a venue for artists and others interested in art to celebrate their God-given talents and interests. When members meet, they do art-related activities such as sketch, play Pictionary, celebrate artist birthdays with pizza parties, have an Annual Ginger Bread 'House' Contest, and take field trips to museums. |

| California Scholarship Federation (CSF) |

| Purpose: |
The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is a statewide organization whose purpose is to recognize students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. CSF encourages members to continue to strive academically. Members are entitled to participate in special events each semester such as: field trips, lunches, food treats, etc. All students who qualify per the state-mandated point system are encouraged to apply. Applications must be filled out each semester based on the last semester's grades. |

The chess club is designed to give an opportunity for students to participate in an intellectual game while existing in and benefiting from a community of common interest. This club also has a selective chess competition team and hosts a tournament each year. All students, regardless of skill level are encouraged to join the fun! |

The goal of Code Red is to stir a greater sense of spirit and community for our school through attendance and support at the various sporting events. Members wear red to games, sit together, and create and inspire chants and cheers. |

French, Spanish, American Sign Language, and any other interested students are encouraged to join the Discover the World Club. This club plans and participates in cultural events that expose students to different languages and cultures. Some activities have included a Mardi Gras feast, meal at a French Restaurant, cultural/language related films, etc. |

The Diverse Student Union (DSU) exists to promote diversity and awareness at Maranatha. The DSU acknowledges that God has created all of us with a multitude of differences and those differences should be acknowledged and valued. The club promotes awareness of all kinds of diversity such as culture, ethnicity, race, gender, and faith backgrounds and promotes not only understanding of differences but sensitivity toward others. At meetings, members discuss world and campus issues of diversity, watch movies, and go on field trips related to learning about issues of diversity. They also experience different cultures through community service within that culture. All students are welcome. |

| Habitat for Humanity |

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Habitat seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. At meetings, members discuss and plan Habitat for Humanity service projects throughout the year. |

The Key Club is a service organization that serves and helps the local and greater community. The Key Club is the high school off shoot of the Kiwanis Club. At meetings, members plan service projects to be involved in as well as support the Kiwanis pancake breakfast. |

The Math Club is filled with exciting activities to enrich the math experience of Maranatha students. The Math Club meets regularly to do activities such as: skits on historical figures in math, hands-on constructions of the Koch Snowflake and Anti-Snowflake Curves, student talks on the Fourth Dimension, field trips and Sudoku. Math Club members seek to have fun as in their annual Pi-Day Celebration held on 3/14 and to challenge themselves as they do with their annual Math Contests. |

| National Honor Society (NHS) |

| Purpose: |
The National Honor Society (NHS) was founded in 1921 to recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. The Maranatha High School chapter of NHS was chartered in 1993. Since that time, NHS membership has been offered to sophomores, juniors and seniors with a GPA of 3.75 or higher. Members are chosen by a faculty council for their character, leadership and service attributes. NHS is a service organization and the group service project is peer-tutoring. On a semester basis, each NHS member is encouraged to give at least 10 hours of free tutoring. That's over 500 hours of tutoring given to MHS students by MHS students every semester! Eligible students may apply each semester. |
