Below are the 2008-2009 ASB activities.
Uprising – August 22, 2008
At the beginning of each year, ASB works to put on Uprising for the entire student body. This is a day of games where classes can bond with each other in competition (with various games) and in chapel (where the spiritual theme is announced for the year). The food and fun of Uprising create a sense of community.
ACSI Retreat – October 4-6, 2008
In the fall, ASB leaders go on a retreat with other school’s ASB officers to hone their skills in leading the campus and planning activities.
Homecoming and Spirit Week – October 20-24, 2008
Each fall, preceding Homecoming, ASB organizes Spirit Week. During Spirit Week students enjoy fun activities, dress up days, and a pep rally. Homecoming weekend is generally comprised of alumni activities, the Homecoming Football game, Class Presentations, Half Time crowning of Homecoming royalty, and the Homecoming Dance.
Cultural Event – November 16, 2008
Students will have the opportunity to attend an event such as a musical, opera, or concert.
Winter Formal – January 30, 2009
In January ASB sponsors a Winter Formal Dance for students.
“Grams”
Throughout the year, ASB sponsors “Grams” such as “Thank you Grams”, “Christmas Grams”, and “Valentine Grams” to encourage students to send uplifting messages to each other.
BBQs – Senior BBQs 9/5, 11/7, 12/5, 1/9, 3/6, 4/3. All School BBQs 10/3, 2/6, 5/8.
Each month ASB sponsors Senior BBQs and from time to time ALL School BBQs to promote community and school spirit.
Sadie Hawkins – March 7, 2009
In the tradition of Sadie Hawkins, MHS ladies have the opportunity to ask the guys to go on an activity with them.
Powder Puff – March 20, 2009
The junior girls battle the senior girls in flag football.
Prom – April 24, 2009
This is the formal dance for the spring.
Senior River Rafting – May 26-28, 2009
At the end of the year, the seniors are sent off with a fun annual senior rafting trip.
