Weekly Chapels
Our weekly chapels are a time of celebration in our community as we gather to praise God for what He is doing in and through us. In addition to worship, we invite dynamic speakers to communicate a Biblically relevant and challenging or encouraging message to us. The 2010-2011 chapel theme is broken out over the two semesters with the first semester being “Learning to Walk” and the second “Towards Wholeness”. Our main passage is found in Hosea 11, especially verse three, “It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by the arms; but they did not realize it was I who healed them.”
Mentoring Groups
Once a month students meet in small groups for mutual encouragement, prayer, and accountability. The groups are led by an adult faculty/staff mentor who helps the students understand their spiritual journey and how to navigate life decisions and experiences. The goal is that we will all follow Christ with greater depth, perseverance, and joy.
Bible Studies
There are two Bible Studies at Maranatha High School, one for the guys and one for the ladies. Both of the Bible Studies meet once a week. For more information, contact the Director of Student Ministries.
Nights of Worship
Several times during the year, the Student Ministries Team hosts “Nights of Worship” to bring our whole Maranatha community together in prayer and worship. Many of our Nights of Worship are held in the evenings on either Friday or Saturday. (See calendar for dates.)
Spiritual Emphasis Week
About halfway through each semester, the Student Ministries Team organizes “Spiritual Emphasis Week.” This week consists of daily chapels with our student worship band and a keynote speaker.
Spiritual Life Retreat
Each year, Maranatha embarks on a Spiritual Life Retreat (SLR) in January. Past retreats have been amazing as literally hundreds of students have renewed their commitment to fully follow the Lord in everything they do. During the retreat, students hear from a keynote speaker, worship, pray, meet in small groups, hang-out at the snack shop, and enjoy many free time activities. This year marks Maranatha’s 11th annual Spiritual Life Retreat (SLR).
