The main function of the Parent Association (P.A.) is to support the faculty, staff and the families of Maranatha High School. This is accomplished in four distinct ways:
- Fundraisers
The Parent Association raises money to support the needs and wishes of teachers and staff at Maranatha. The P.A. oversees the Scrip (gift card) program and holds a See’s Candy Sale Fundraiser each year. Other fundraising opportunities include the "Cartridges for Kids" recycling program.
- Prayer & Care Ministries
a. Weekly group and individual prayer opportunities
b. Regular prayer for each student, faculty/staff and board member
c. Prayer requests and praises via the e-mail prayer ministry
d. A care & meal ministry to our MHS community
- Coordinating the S.O.S. (Support Our School) Program
a. The S.O.S. program is designed to encourage a spirit of community in which each school family actively participates and supports the life and development of Maranatha High School
b. Each family is required to perform a minimum of 20 hours of service or pay a $300 fee.
- Community Building
The PA is very interested in building community amidst its parent body. This is achieved by providing different opportunities for parents to meet and get acquainted such as Community Coffees, Come and Connect, and "Just for Fun" activities.
The P.A. meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Academic Center 3rd floor Commons Room. Important information is provided at these meetings along with reports from the Administration and the Development Office. A special guest speaker from the faculty also shares a little about themselves and their reasons and goals for teaching at Maranatha. Come join us, get involved, enjoy the fellowship and learn what is going on at the school.
All families belong to the Parent Association without a membership fee and are welcomed and encouraged to attend these meetings.
