Capstone Project

An important part of Maranatha's curriculum is the Capstone Project. Students must demonstrate proficiency on this comprehensive research project in order to graduate from Maranatha. This project requires students to dig deeper into a research topic of current concern or global impact. Students research the topic, then analyze and synthesize ideas, including a potential “solution” and response to the issue based on Biblical teachings. The project includes completing an annotated bibliography, completing interviews, researching primary and secondary resources, writing a well-developed and logical research paper, and making a formal presentation to a team of adjudicators. This combined English/Theology project spans over several years of study at MHS and will help students integrate their learning across disciplines. Students receive thorough instruction and assistance throughout every step of this project.
