Cheer
The purpose of Cheerleading at Maranatha High School is to glorify God through the development of Christian character, athletic abilities and skills, and teamwork. The cheer squad supports MHS athletic teams through use of skills, attitude, and encouragement.

Head Coach: Keli Lesker

Equestrian Team
The Equestrian Team competes throughout the school year in the Interscholastic Equestrian League (IEL) at Hansen Dam. Students, who ride locally at the San Pasqual Dam, have registered for events in Hunter/Jumper and Dressage and others.

The Maranatha Equestrian Team has been established to provide experienced riders an opportunity to compete interscholastically against 60 schools throughout Southern California. To find out more about IEL and the participating schools you may visit their web-site at www.theiel.org.

Participation requirements include:

  • The rider must be under the instruction of a certified trainer.
  • The rider must provide his/her own horse, whether through his/her trainer, lease or ownership.
  • The rider pays all the expenses associated with the shows and training.

If additional Maranatha riders are interested in joining the team, please contact Brian DeHaan, Maranatha’s Athletic Director, at (626) 817-4060.
