Cheer
The purpose of Cheerleading at Maranatha High School is to glorify God through the development of Christian character, athletic abilities and skills, and teamwork. The cheer squad supports MHS athletic teams through use of skills, attitude, and encouragement.
Equestrian Team
The Maranatha Equestrian Team has been established to provide experienced riders an opportunity to compete interscholastically against schools throughout the Southern California area.
Students riding in the Hunter/Jumper and Dressage disciplines participate in the Interscholastic Equestrian League (IEL) with shows held at the Hansen Dam while students riding in the Saddle Seat and Western disciplines participate in the Saddle Seat and Western School League of Greater Los Angeles (SWSL) with shows held at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. Students participating in the SWSL have an opportunity to earn a Varsity Letter from the United States Equestrian Federation. Participation requirements include:
- The rider must be under the instruction of a certified trainer.
- The rider must provide his/her own horse, whether through his/her trainer, lease or ownership.
- The rider pays all the expenses associated with the shows and training.
